Kirkbymoorside Christmas Market and Santa's Grotto 2025
Saturday 29th November Kirkbymoorside Town Centre 10.00 - 15.00
The annual Kirkbymoorside Christmas Fair take place across the town centre and in the Memorial Hall. Lots of great stalls, craft stalls, food and drink, Sant's Grotto and live music from the Kirkbymoorside Town Brass Band.

To celebrate the granting of the market charter in 1254, all market stalls are just £5, so expect a bumper market.

Kirkbymoorside Community Carol Singing 2025
Saturday 20th December Kirkbymoorside Market Place 18.00
Join us for Christmas songs from Kirkbymoorside school singing club accompanied by the Kirkbymoorside Town Brass Band, followed by a community sing along. Christmas treats and mulled wine available from 5.30pm (outside Spar).
Free - collection in aid of the Kirkbymoorside Community Hub.

Kirkbymoorside Community Christmas Dinner 2025
Thursday 25th December Kirkbymoorside Memorial Hall 11.30 - 16.00
Free Christmas Dinner for anyone who would otherwise be on their own on Christmas Day. Booking essential - click here for booking form.

Raising funds for the Scouts. Maps showing the locations of scarecrows are available from: Moorside Store, Something Special, Daisy Garden Centre and Beadlam Grange. They're £2 each and come with a raffle ticket. The start point is marked on the map however you don't need to start in the right order - you can make your own route or split it between 2 days.

Following the tractor run, we will kick off the running at 12:45 with our ever-popular and high-energy ‘Dash’ which is open to children up to the age of 6 (school year 2).
At 13:00, it’s the ‘Childrens’ 1 Mile’ (ages up to school year 6), with a short loop through to the north of town through a lovely wood with a grandstand finish down our high street.
Setting off shortly after at 13:05 is our ‘4K’ open to anyone from year 7 upwards; this takes in a local loop on quiet country roads with an amazing view across Ryedale and the town before the fast descent to the finish. The cherry on the top is the finish down our high street with cheering crowds on both sides. Teams are encouraged to enter, and fancy dress for teams is encouraged! Special category prizes for first team, and best team fancy dress.
At 14:00 we start the main event – the Kirkbymoorside 10k.

10.00 - 16.00. Free Environmental Fair in the Memorial Hall, Moorside Room and Library.
Lot of stalls, food, music and activities in the Memorial Hall and Moorside Room and children's stories and talks in the Library.

Kirkbymoorside Open Gardens
June - date to be confirmed
Kirkbymoorside In Bloom's increasingly popular Open Gardens event is back for 2025, bigger and better than ever.
Tickets are priced at £5.00 per adult, children under 16 free, available on the day from the KIB base, together with location maps, outside 'Something Special' in the Town Centre.
Dogs at the discretion of individual garden volunteers.
Not all gardens will have full disability access but information is provided .
Tea and scones will be available from the Quaker Meeting House from 13.00 and is included in ticket price. Kirkbymoorside Community Brass Band will be playing in the Town Centre in the afternoon.
There will be a wide variety of gardens to view, together with our very popular plant stall with nursery facility. Plenty of parking is available in the town.
We look forward to welcoming new and old friends.

The Plough, Fadmoor, Beer Festival

The Plough’s Community Pub's inaugural Beer Festival, featuring a variety of craft and local Yorkshire beers, as well as local gins, food stalls, live music/DJ and fundraising initiatives.
Taking place in the garden of the pub, the event is the first ever held at The Plough which dates back to 1782. The event opens at 6pm on Friday 11 July until 11pm that evening. Then the doors will re-open at 4pm on Saturday 12 July from 4pm to 11pm.
Tickets cost £10 for adults (+16) and that includes a glass and the first drink. Child tickets are available on Saturday only and cost £3.

Tickets will also be available on the door of the Beer Festival, however, the more tickets bought in advance, the more beer we buy!

Kirkbymoorside Gateway to the Moors Music Festival 2026

Brought to you by the Kirkbymoorside Community Support Group and starting on Friday 31st July, the Kirkbymoorside Gateway to the Moors Music Festival is 3 days of great live music and dnace in venues across the town.​

Kirkbymoorside Horticultural Society Annual Open Show

Classes range from flowers, vegetables, homecraft, children's handicraft and photography. Schedules available from around June /July. Entries taken the morning of the show, 8.00 to 10.30. Kirkbymoorside Community Awards

The Kirkbymoorside Town Council are looking for nominations this year in three categories:
-
The Group Award: voluntary/charity/membership organisation of the year
-
The Individual and / or ‘Quiet Contributor’ of the year
-
The Young Person of the year (0 – 25 years of age)
and all must be operationally active in the designated geographic area (Kirkbymoorside). The Town Council may also make a discretionary award, for the overall outstanding contribution.
Nomination Forms and Guidance Notes are available on the Town Council website.
Shortlist nominees will be invited to the award ceremony to on the 27th September in the Memorial Hall.

Remembrance Day Parade & Service
Sunday 9th November
10.35 - 12.30
The Remembrance Day Parade led by the Kirkbymoorside Town Brass Band will leave the Moorside Club and Bar at 10.35am, marching down Tinley Garth to All Saints Church where the remembrance service will be held. Following the church service at approx. 12.00 they will march back along West End to the Moorside Club where the band will play a short concert.
